LOOK: Did Marvin Harrison Jr. Hint at Future with Ohio State Buckeyes?
Marvin Harrison Jr. may have played his final game with the No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes.
On Saturday, the Buckeyes defeated the Minnesota Golden Gophers 37-3 in their final game of the season at Ohio Stadium.
While he was leaving the stadium, cameras captured Harrison taking what appeared to be a final look at the field. The clip of the glance was posted to social media, resulting in a flurry of reactions from Ohio State fans.
"Aww, looking back and taking it all in. Goodbye Marv, thank you," 'Cynthia' said. "That one last look at The Shoe….Awesome! Thanks, MHJ," posted 'BuckeyeKevin1965.'
Plenty of other accounts expressed their gloomy responses to Harrison's look-back with gifs of crying fictional characters like The Office's Michael Scott (played by Steve Carell) and Cooper (Matthew McConaughey's role in Interstellar. Whether the reaction was expressed with words or a moving picture, the consensus seems to be clear amongst fans: Harrison has played his final game at Ohio Stadium.
Harrison has already made history in Columbus, becoming the first Ohio State receiver to amass back-to-back seasons with 1,000 or more receiving yards. A high school teammate of Buckeyes quarterback Kyle McCord at St. Joesph's Prep in Philadelphia, Harrison has seven games with at least 100 yards through the air this season, including four weeks ago against the then-No. 7 Penn State Nittany Lions.
The Ohio State Buckeyes travel north to battle their historic rivals, the Michigan Wolverines, on Saturday, November 25. Kick-off is scheduled for 12 p.m. eastern, with live coverage airing on FOX.
