No. 3 Michigan Wolverines Offensive Players to Watch vs. No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes

A nationally recognized Michigan Wolverines offense awaits the Ohio State Buckeyes on Saturday, led by quarterback J.J. McCarthy, running back Blake Corum and receiver Roman Wilson.
In this story:

The No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes defense will have its hands full on Saturday when they travel to Ann Arbor, Michigan for a game against the No. 3 Michigan Wolverines.

The Wolverines have one of the most-talented offenses in the country, led by three of the top players in the country.

Michigan has plenty of skill on their roster from top to bottom, but this trio has been the backbone of the Wolverines for a majority of the season. Here are three names to watch out for when the Buckeyes head north to 'The Big House.'

1. J.J. McCarthy - Quarterback

McCarthy has been tremendous behind center for the Wolverines all season, having racked up 2,335 passing yards over 11 games. The junior signal caller has thrown for 200 yards or more in seven of those contests, and has an overall completion percentage of just under 74 percent.

Something to note about McCarthy is his trend of three-straight games without a touchdown pass, spanning from November 4 against the Purdue Boilermakers to last weekend against the Maryland Terrapins. Michigan will no doubt be doing whatever they can this week in practice to make sure that trend does not continue against the Buckeyes.

2. Blake Corum - Running Back

There are not many running backs in the country whom could match Ohio State rusher TreVeyon Henderson, but Corum is definitely one of them. Corum has 94 more rushing yards than Henderson, along with 20 touchdowns (ten more than his Buckeyes counterpart).

Despite those more-than-impressive totals, Corum has only rushed for more than 100 yards in one game: November 11 against the then-No. 10 Penn State Nittany Lions. Still, Ohio State's defense should understand that stopping Corum is easier said than done.

3. Roman Wilson - Wide Receiver

Wilson is Michigan's most-dangerous receiver, leading the team with 612 receiving yards this season (142 yards more than second place). Better still, 403 of those yards through the air have come against Big Ten opponents.

As mentioned above, Corum draws a lot of attention from opposing defenses no matter the game. The Wolverines will almost certainly look to Wilson as a distraction from the running game, making sure the Buckeyes have to make a tough choice all game long.

The Ohio State Buckeyes and Michigan Wolverines do battle this Saturday, November 25. Kick-off between the historic rivals is scheduled for 12 p.m., with live coverage airing on FOX.
