OFFICIAL: 4-Star CB Miles Lockhart Signs With Ohio State Buckeyes
The Ohio State Buckeyes have officially added to their future of their secondary by signing four-star Basha (Chandler, Ariz.) cornerback Miles Lockhart during Wednesday's early signing period.
Lockhart fielded offers from programs like Arizona, Texas A&M, Wisconsin, Northwestern, UNLV, Oregon State and more.
However, he built a strong relationship with the Buckeyes, making an official visit to Columbus in June, which has now culminated in his official signing.
“Me and (Ryan) Day also have a strong relationship too which was huge for me as he’s the head coach," Lockhart said, per On3. "And they plan on using me in that nickel position.”
"All the meetings I had with the coaches were great," Lockhart told 247Sports' Blair Angulo in April. "My family and I sat down and talked with coach Day for a while and it was cool getting to know more about him and all the other coaches beyond football."

During his junior season in 2022, Lockhart posted 69 total tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and four interceptions.
Here's a quick snippet from 247Sports about what he brings to the table:
"Stout, solidly built frame. Limited physical upside," 247Sports writes. "Really smart cornerback with off-the-charts instincts. Flashes very good ball skills and toughness in one-on-one coverage. Displays sound tackling ability to clean up on the perimeter. Looks at home near the line of scrimmage. Superb two-way production and dangerous with the ball in his hands."
Lockhart will now look to be an impactful contributor on Jim Knowles' defense as early as next season.
