Ohio State TE Cade Stover Using NIL Sponsorships to Promote Family Farm

Ohio State TE Cade Stover spoke about his recent partnership with Ag-Pro, for which he was able to film a commercial driving a tractor on his family farm.
In this story:

Ohio State's Cade Stover is more than just a football player; he's a farmer. When asked about how much he makes from his Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) partnerships, the Buckeyes tight end had an interesting response.

"I don't know," Stover said. "I'd rather be paid in tractors, to be honest with you." While not in the form of compensation (yet), Stover's passion for farming can be seen in his recent NIL deal with the agriculture company Ag-Pro. A sponsored video with the farming retailer can be seen on Stover's social media accounts.

In the video, Stover is shown tilling a field from behind the wheel of a tractor, while speaking of the impact farming with his father, Trevor, has had on his life.
"My relationship with my dad is the most important relationship in my life," Stover says in the video. "Having him to look up to and learn from what he does is a huge benefit for my future in farming."

Stover was asked about filming that video and being able to show his love of farming through NIL during Big Ten Media Days in Indianapolis. "It's really special," Stover said. "That's what wakes me up in the morning. ... having the opportunity to do that with him and having the opportunity to hopefully come back one day and expand on that."

Stover's openness about his country upbringing has led to some of his Buckeyes teammates calling him, "Farmboy Gronk," which references both his country lifestyle and the position he plays. In the future, Stover said he hopes to have more chances to merge his farming and football lives alongside his dad.

"I've had a lot of cool opportunities from football to help our farm, so he's been very happy with that and so have I," Stover said.
