Action Network Has Ohio State Favored In 11 Games
Gambler's rejoice!
The Ohio State Buckeyes have questions at the quarterback and left tackle positions heading into 2023, but are still projected to be favored in 11 games next season, according to Action Network's Collin Wilson's power ratings. Ohio State ranked third behind Georgia and Michigan in Wilson's power ratings "which aim to judge the true quality of a team based on advanced metrics, coaching changes, year-over-year roster continuity (TARP) and a host of other underlying components," Wilson stated.
The Buckeyes are 2.5-point underdogs against the Wolverines Nov. 25, according to DraftKings Sportsbooks, as they are favored in the five other games that have set lines.
In Ohio State's season opener against Indiana, it is a 28.5-point road favorite — the biggest point spread of any of the Buckeyes' games so far. In week four when Ohio State plays Notre Dame, it will do so as one-touchdown favorites over the Fighting Irish after beating them 21-10 in 2022.
The Buckeyes' are 10.5-point favorites in the final annual matchup against "competitive rival" Penn State before the 2024 scheduling format, as well as 10-point favorites in their first in-conference matchup against Wisconsin with head coach Luke Fickell at the helm.
The second-biggest spread of any Ohio State game thus far is in the Buckeyes' Nov. 11 date against Michigan State in which they are 25.5-point favorites.
