Offensive coordinator Brian Hartline has worked his magic yet again.

Class of 2026 wide receiver Chris Henry Jr. announced to various media outlets that he is committing to the Ohio State Buckeyes at their SummerFest Friday. He becomes the first commit in the 2026 cycle to become an Ohio State pledge, choosing the Buckeyes over Michigan, Tennessee, Penn State, Miami, USC and Texas A&M among others.

“When I watch Ohio State, and I watch Marv, Jeremiah and stuff like that, I can see myself in that position,” Henry told The Columbus Dispatch in June.

Henry is the son of former Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chris Henry, who died in 2009.

The rising Withrow High School sophomore was first offered by Ohio State June 6, 2022 — the fifth program to do so behind Grambling State, Marshall, West Virginia and UConn.

Henry told On3's Chad Simmons in May that he has a great relationship with Hartline.

“I think he liked my ability to track the ball down and my speed," Henry told Lettermen Row. "I’m a very coachable player."

Henry is a big body that is comparable to Marvin Harrison Jr., weighing 10 more pounds and standing an inch taller.

In six games in his freshman season, Henry hauled in 17 passes for 141 yards and three touchdowns, according to his MaxPreps page.
