One 2024 quarterback will no longer be an Ohio State Buckeye, but another one will.

Buckeyes 2024 quarterback commit Air Noland, a Fairborn, GA. native, led Langston Hughes High School to a state championship victory last season. In his quest for a repeat, he could play Ohio State de-commit Dylan Raiola, who announced his transfer to Buford High School in Georgia for the 2023 season.

"I would love to play my guy Dylan in the championship game, playoff game, regular-season game. It doesn't matter," Noland said on RJ Young's "Number One College Football Show" Friday. "In my backyard. It doesn't matter."

Buford, like Hughes, is a powerhouse in high school football in the state of Georgia and is always in the thick of the state championship. Former Ohio State offensive lineman Harry Miller and freshman tight end Jelani Thurman are alumni of Buford and Hughes, respectively.

Raiola announced his commitment to Ohio State on May 9, 2022, but de-committed on Dec. 17, 2022. After rumors of a Nebraska commitment and a crystal ball to USC, Raiola announced his commitment to Georgia.

Buford will be Raiola's third high school in his career after playing at Burleson in Texas and Chandler in Arizona. Raiola was intending to transfer to Pinnacle High School in Phoenix for his senior season, but pending a potential five-game suspension case for violating the Arizona Interscholastic Association's transfer policy, he decided to travel cross country to Buford, GA.

Noland said he and Raiola "bond very well" as the two were representatives at the Elite 11 Finals in Los Angeles in June.

The soon-to-be Buckeyes left-hander praised Raiola's competitiveness and said he "stands on his business."

"He stands 10 toes about being the No. 1 recruit," Noland said. "It's a lot of respect for him there. I think Dylan's as just as much of a competitor as me, so we would love to make that happen."
