Ohio State Buckeyes Stay Unbeaten, Grind Way to Win vs. Rutgers Scarlet Knights

The Ohio State Buckeyes survived a tough trip to Piscataway on Saturday, taking down the Rutgers Scarlet Knights.

Entering their Saturday matchup against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights as the No. 1 team in the College Football Playoff Rankings, the Ohio State Buckeyes had a major target on their backs.

Luckily for the Buckeyes, TreVeyon Henderson was up for the challenge on Saturday, with the running back leading a third-quarter surge to give Ohio State the 35-16 win.

Henderson got going early for the Buckeyes, finishing the first half with 11 carries for 51 yards.

However, it was in the second half that he exploded, starting the third quarter off with a nine-yard touchdown run, to put the Buckeyes up 21-9 and in control of the game.

Not long after that Rutgers would score to cut into the Buckeyes lead.

However, that is when Henderson made another monster play for the offense, taking a screen pass 65 yards all the way down to the Rutgers nine-yard line, setting up another score - this time from Kyle McCord to Marvin Harrison Jr.

After the critical score from Harrison, as well as another one to put the icing on the cake, the Buckeyes defense was able to hold the Rutgers offense in check for the rest of the contest, securing the win.

Henderson finished the game rushing 22 times for 128 yards and the score, and hauling in five catches for 80 yards.

Following the win, the Buckeyes now move to 9-0 on the season and will turn their heads toward a matchup at Ohio Stadium vs. Michigan State.

The Buckeyes have won seven matchups in a row vs. the Spartans, with the last Michigan State win coming in 2015 in Columbus.
