The No. 3 Ohio State Buckeyes defeated the Wisconsin Badgers 24-10 on Saturday, remaining undefeated going into the tenth week of the season.

The next day, ESPN analyst Dan Mullen posted his list of the ten best teams in college football on social media, placing the Buckeyes in the top spot.

The Buckeyes held steady in the AP Poll at No. 3.

On Mullen's list, the Florida State Seminoles (8-0) and Washington Huskies (8-0) rounded out the top three squads behind Ohio State. The next-highest ranked, current Big Ten team was the Michigan Wolverines (8-0), slotted fifth behind the aforementioned three schools and the No. 4 Georgia Bulldogs (8-0).

The Oregon Ducks (7-1), Texas Longhorns (7-1), Alabama Crimson Tide (7-1), Oklahoma Sooners (7-1) and Ole Miss Rebels (7-1) completed Mullen's list, filling in the No. 6 to No. 10 spots in that order.

The Southeastern Conference (SEC) has the most teams of any league on Mullen's list, followed by the Big Ten Conference, Big 12 and Pac 12 with two each. The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) is on the board with one school, representing the Seminoles.

Mullen coached in a number of roles at a variety of schools from 1994 to 2021, but is known mostly for his time as head coach of the Mississippi State Bulldogs (2009-2017) and Florida Gators (2018-2021). The Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania-native ended his career with a 103-61 overall record and a 7-3 clip in bowl-game appearances.

Mullen was named both SEC Coach of the Year and given the George Munger Award (honoring the best head coach in Division 1 football over a given season) with the Bulldogs in 2014.
