Buckeyes' Marvin Harrison Jr. Ranked No. 2 NFL Draft Prospect

As the first round of NFL Draft prospect rankings rolls in, Ohio State wideout Marvin Harrison Jr. appears near the top.

Ahead of April's NFL Draft, several prospect rankings are expected that will grade exiting college players based on where they might be taken. Those first rounds of rankings are here, as NFL Media analyst Daniel Jeremiah offered his first version of prospect rankings.

Not surprisingly, Ohio State's Marvin Harrison Jr. is not only ranked high, but he comes in at No. 2 in Jeremiah's initial grades.

"Harrison has ideal size, speed and production," Jeremiah said. "Built like a power forward, he plays with a blend of physicality and explosiveness. He uses his upper-body strength to power through press coverage. He's a smooth/fluid route runner and closes the cushion quickly. He gets on the toes of cornerbacks before sharply breaking off his route. He can tap into another gear when the ball goes up and he tracks over his shoulder with ease.

"He knows how to use his big frame to wall off and shield defenders. Harrison has a huge catch radius, but he did have some contact drops in traffic this fall. After the catch, he relies on speed and physicality more than elusiveness. Overall, Harrison is a prototypical No. 1 receiver and should enjoy immediate NFL success."

The only player ahead of Harrison is outgoing USC quarterback Caleb Williams, who is commonly thought of as the overall No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft this summer.

Harrison appears just ahead of fellow wideout from Washington, Rome Odunze who is No. 3 on the list while North Carolina quarterback Drake Maye is at No. 4 and LSU signal caller and 2023 Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels rounds out the top 5.

Harrison caught 155 balls for 2,613 yards and 31 touchdowns in 38 games over three seasons in Columbus. He also added four carries for 58 yards and another score on the ground.
