Ohio State Buckeyes receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. was named a first-team All-American by The Sporting News on Wednesday.

The Buckeyes junior has now earned All-American status from four news outlets, including the Associated Press (AP), Football Writers Association of America, and Walter Camp Football Foundation.

"The Ohio State receiver pipeline remains strong with Harrison, who is a two-time first-team SN All-American," The Sporting News' Bill Bender said. "Harrison won the Biletnikoff Award among a loaded group of receivers in the FBS this season. Harrison totaled 67 catches for 1,211 yards and 14 TDs, and his acrobatic catches became every-week viral moments. He also showed up in huge games with a total of 16 catches for 280 yards and two TDs in top-10 showdowns with Penn State and Michigan."

Harrison is now on the verge of marking himself in the Ohio State history books once again. If the Buckeyes pass-catcher earns the same honors from American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) tomorrow as he did from The Sporting News, Harrison will become the fifth player in program history to be named a two-time unanimous All-American selection.

The Philadelphia, Pennsylvania-native became the first Buckeye receiver to compile back-to-back seasons with 1,000 receiving yards or more earlier this year. Harrison finished last year with 1,263 yards, and has 1,211 yards as of this article's publishing (pending any Harrison could earn should he play in the 2023 Cotton Bowl).

Harrison has done more than enough to cement himself as one of the best receivers in Ohio State program history. Becoming a two-time, unanimous All-American would simply be the icing on the cake.
