There's A New Voice For Ohio Stadium In 2023
There's a new voice to be heard at Ohio Stadium this season for Buckeyes football games after the passing of Bob Kennedy earlier this year.
Tom Snyder was chosen from a list of over 100 applicants from earlier in the offseason. In August, he was moved to a list of just seven finalists who went through an audition at the stadium. Snyder will replace Kennedy, who as the voice of Ohio Stadium for the past 20 years.
Snyder is a Columbus resident who, like Snyder, attended Otterbein University. This means this season will be the 21st year in a row that an Otterbein graduate will handle PA duties at Ohio Stadium.
Snyder has held previous PA jobs at Long Beach State and UCLA before returning to Columbus in 2023 to become the director of digital communications at St. Francis DeSales High School. Snyder earned his bachelor's degree in journalism in 2005.
Snyder also announced the NFL Alumni Central Ohio Golf Outing in 2021 and Dodgertown Classic in both 2010 and 2011 inside Dodger Stadium. Since 2008, Snyder has been the lead broadcaster for St. Francis DeSales High School athletics.
The Buckeyes kick off the new season against the Indiana Hoosiers in Bloomington on Sept. 2 at 3:30 p.m. ET as they hope to once again be crowned Big Ten champions and take another crack at the College Football Playoff.
