WATCH: Ohio State WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba Impresses at NFL Combine

Looking to be the first receiver drafted in April, Jaxon Smith-Njigba put together a strong showing at the NFL combine.

Despite only appearing in three games in his final season at Ohio State, there is still a chance receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba is the first receiver off the board when the NFL draft rolls around in April.

It isn't hard to see why, either, after looking at the stats he put up as a Buckeye. He recorded 1,606 receiving yards and nine touchdowns as a junior, but his 347 receiving yards and three touchdowns in the Rose Bowl put the college football world on notice.

He continued to impress scouts on Saturday, putting together an impressive performance at the NFL combine, even after opting out of running the 40-yard dash in Indianapolis.

Smith-Njigba checked in at 6-0 1/2 and 196 pounds, with nine-inch hands, 30 1/2" arm length and a 75 1/2" wing span rounding out his measurables. Most impressive, though, was his agility which was on full display on Saturday.

He recorded a 3.93-second 20-yard shuttle, which is the fourth-best by a receiver since 2007. As well, he put up a 6.57-second three-cone drill which is 12th best at the position in the same time span.

There is no telling where Smith-Njigba ultimately ends up, but there is no doubt he has the potential to be the best receiver in this draft class.

Combine numbers, of course, aren't the end-all be-all. However, one simply has to look at his film to see the game-breaking ability Smith-Njigba can bring to an NFL team.
