Ohio State QB C.J. Stroud Reveals Which QB 'Inspired' Him Growing Up
With the NFL combine underway this week we are one step closer to the draft in April.
When the draft does finally roll around, it is widely expected by analysts that Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud will be one of, if not the first, quarterbacks off the board.
For now, though, Stroud is at the combine and was answering questions on Friday when he listed three quarterbacks that he likes to watch, led by former NFL quarterback Michael Vick.
"He inspired me not only to be athletic and use my athleticism, but as a Black quarterback, to stay in the pocket and throw the ball," Stroud said. "That's something he was very underrated in."
The other two quarterbacks that Stroud mentioned were Deshaun Watson and Joe Burrow.
It isn't hard to see why Stroud is viewed as a consensus top five pick in the draft, as he was one of the best quarterbacks in college football as a starter the last two seasons at Ohio State.
In those two seasons as the starter for Ohio State, Stroud threw for 8,123 yards and 85 touchdowns with just 12 interceptions while completing an impressive 69.3 percent of his passes.
Where Stroud gets drafted is yet to be seen, but if he impresses at the combine and his pro day he could very well be the first quarterback taken come April.
