'Let's Be Great!' Ohio State Buckeyes Land Commitment From Four-Star CB DeShawn Stewart
The Ohio State Buckeyes are on a roll in New Jersey.
For the second time in as many days, the Ohio State Buckeyes have landed a four-star recruit out of DePaul Catholic (Wayne, NJ). On Saturday, the Buckeyes got a pledge from receiver De'Zie Jones.
This time, however, the commitment came on the other side of the ball, with cornerback DeShawn Stewart announcing his intent to play for Ohio State on Sunday.
“Jersey to Columbus let’s be great,” Stewart told On3's Hayes Fawcett.
Stewart currently ranks as No. 323 player, No. 32 corner and No. 10 player in New Jersey per the On3 Industry Ranking - an amalgomation of rankings from the four major recruiting services.
On3 itself ranks Stewart as the no. 5 player in New Jersey, the No. 16 corner and the No. 154 player nationally. ESPN also ranks Stewart as a four-star recruit.
Stewart, who becomes the 11th commitment of the 2025 class for the Buckeyes, picked Ohio State over Michigan State, Penn State, and Cincinnati, among others.
Stewart is also the fourth corner commit of the 2025 class for the Buckeyes, joining five-stars Na'eem Offord and Devin Sanchez - who rank as five stars and the top two corners in the entire class, and four-star Blake Woodby.
Before the commitment of Stewart, the Buckeyes already held the No. 1 overall class rank in college football, per On3.
Now, they extend that lead, and continue their momentum.
