The Ohio State Buckeyes are off to a great start with their 2025 recruiting cycle currently holding the No. 1 class in the nation, with three five-star talents as part of the group.

And while that class took a hit earlier this week with the de-commitment of four-star receiver Jayvan Boggs, Ryan Day and the Buckeyes more than made up for that loss on Friday, with four-star defensive lineman London Merritt committing to the program.

“I wanted to choose a program that mirrors my hunger and pursuit for greatness & Ohio State is the perfect place for me," Merritt told On3's Hayes Fawcett.

The Atlanta native and IMG Academy (Bradenton, FL) star currently ranks as the No. 165 player nationally, No. 21 edge rusher and No. 21 player in the state of Florida per the On3 Industry ranking.

He also ranks as high as 37th in the nation overall by ESPN, and is No. 74 nationally per Rivals.com.

Before transferring to IMG Academy for his senior season, Merritt was a star for Woodward Academy in Atlanta, helping his school to read the Georgia 6A title game, and finishing the year with 11 QB hits and five sacks.

Merritt now joins a class that is stacking up the elite talent, including at the edge spot, with four-star pass rusher Zahir Mathis also committed.

Perhaps Ohio State's best position thus far in the class, however, is at the cornerback spot, where they hold two five-star commitments in Na'em Offord and Devin Sanchez, who are ranked by On3 as the top two players at the position in the nation.
