Ohio State Buckeyes Transfer CB Ryan Turner Commits to Boston College Eagles
Ohio State Buckeyes transfer cornerback Ryan Turner had made a decision on where he'll be playing next season.
Turner announced on social media Friday that he'll be transferring to Boston College. He'll join former Buckeyes co-defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley, who coached one season in Columbus in 2019.
Turner redshirted last season after appearing in three contests, including conference games against Rutgers and Penn State. He posted one tackle as a freshman.
This season, Turner appeared in Big Ten games against Minnesota and Michigan State, recording two total tackles.
Boston College finished the regular season 6-6 and will play the No. 24 SMU Mustangs in the Fenway Bowl on Thursday, Dec. 28. Eight of the Eagles' 12 games ended within one score, and the defense was partially to blame, as Boston College surrendered the third-most points per contest in the ACC (29.5).
The addition of Turner might be seen as way of improving the secondary, but the Eagles' pass defense was one of the better units in the ACC, surrendering the fourth-fewest passing yards per game in the conference (197.7).

Turner will now look to bolster one of Boston College's strengths next season, looking to find the increased role that eluded him during his time in Columbus.
No. 7 Ohio State takes on the No. 9 Missouri Tigers at the Cotton Bowl in Arlington, Texas on Friday, Dec. 29. Like many teams during this time of year, the Buckeyes will look to make adjustments on the depth chart as many players continue to enter the portal prior to bowl season.
