No. 6 Buckeyes vs. No. 9 Fighting Irish: How to Watch, Stream, Betting Odds
The No. 6 Ohio State Buckeyes are undefeated this season at 3-0, but it's hardly been a perfect season. With questions at quarterback and on offense, there is room for improvement, although things looked better last week in the 63-10 win over Western Kentucky.
The first two games against Indiana and Youngstown State saw an average of just 29 points scored for Ohio State, and that was alarming to some. But scoring more than 60 in Week 3 was reassuring to some, as was the performance of quarterback Kyle McCord.
McCord threw for 318 yards and three touchdowns against the Hilltoppers, a performance many have been waiting for. But things will be different in South Bend on Saturday against a defense that has allowed an average of just under 12 points per contest in four games.
The Buckeyes defense has allowed just 20 total points in three games this season, but they have yet to face a quarterback with the skins that No. 9 Notre Dame signal-caller Sam Hartman has. In four games this year, Hartman has yet to throw an interception and has tossed for 1,061 yards and 13 touchdowns. He's also completing over 71 percent of his passes.
This will be the first true test for both teams and most likely have an effect on the College Football Playoff rankings later in the season.
