'Pushed To Do Better!' Buckeyes Ready to Right Offense vs. Hilltoppers

The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers visit the Ohio State Buckeyes for the first time ever on Saturday while the Buckeyes hope to get their offense back on track.

The No. 6 Ohio State Buckeyes are a refreshing 2-0 to start the season, but it's somewhat of an uncomfortable 2-0 if that's a thing. With two wins over struggling programs, the Buckeyes have yet to be tested, and that test won't come on Saturday.

After having scored just 23 against Indiana and 35 against Youngstown State, Ohio State's offense appears to still be finding its footing, and if things go well, all questions can be answered against the Hilltoppers.

“I think everyone can always get pushed to do better in all those areas the way the game of football is played,” Day said Thursday in his last remarks to the media this week. “So that’s a reiteration of my message all week is just keep pushing.”

Questions at the quarterback position linger after two games, as coach Ryan Day has named Kyle McCord the starter by title only, and has indicated Devin Brown - who also has yet to impress - will also continue to see some playing time.

McCord Penguins

With Western Kentucky coming to town, it's a great time for McCord and the offense to get things straight against one of the so-called lesser opponents. But that doesn't mean the Hilltoppers aren't excited to visit Ohio Stadium for the first time ever.

"Ohio State is certainly one of the most accomplished programs in the history of college football," Western Kentucky AD Todd Stewart said. "Facing a program that has had elite success on a national level like Ohio State is an outstanding opportunity [for us]."
