In this story:

The NCAA Transfer Portal is in full swing, and the Ohio State Buckeyes have been one of the most affected teams in the Power 5.

In fact, last week, the Buckeyes lost one of the biggest names in the portal, junior quarterback Kyle McCord.

So where could McCord end up? As an accomplished starting quarterback in the Power 5 that had his team on the precipice of a Big Ten Championship Game berth, there are plenty of programs that will be lining up in an attempt to get McCord to lead their offenses,

Despite earlier reports and betting odds favoring Nebraska, According to On3's Pete Nakos, it will not be the Cornhuskers.

"Ohio State transfer quarterback Kyle McCord was on campus at Nebraska on Monday," Nakos Said. "Coming out of that visit, multiple sources now tell On3 that McCord will be moving forward with his recruitment, keeping his options open and looking at another batch of schools. The Huskers will not be in the mix."

The Huskers were recently reported to be close to flipping five-star and No. 1 overall QB in the 2024 class, Dylan Railoa - a former Buckeyes commit - from the Geogira Bulldogs, which very well could have played a role in McCord's decision to move on.

As it stands today, McCord only has one year of eligibility remaining, starting every game this season for the Buckeyes, and appearing in five games in 2021 and seven games in 2022 behind C.J. Stroud.

The junior ranked 14th in the country in QB rating, while completing 65.8 percent of his passes for 3,170 yards and 24 touchdowns, with just six picks. He also led the Buckeyes to an 11-1 regular season and a No. 7 finish in the College Football Playoff rankings.
