Ole Miss CB Transfer Davison Igbinosun Commits to Ohio State

The Ohio State Buckeyes have landed a talented SEC defensive back through the NCAA Transfer Portal

The Ohio State Buckeyes secondary just got a little bit deeper. 

On Tuesday, former Ole Miss Rebels cornerback Davison Igbinsoun, who entered the NCAA Transfer Portal after just one year in Oxford, committed to Ohio State, giving the Buckeyes a talented secondary piece for the future.

Igbinosun now becomes the fourth incoming Ohio State transfer alongside offensive tackle Victor Cutler, quarterback Tristan Gebbia, and safety Ja'Had Carter.

He will have three years of eligibility remaining and will have a chance to start immediately.

Igbinosun entered the portal shortly after a shake-up on the Ole Miss coaching staff, in which the Rebels parted ways with defensive coordinator Chris Partridge, and hired Alabama's, Pete Golding.

The 6-foot-2, 185-pound New Jersey native recently took an official visit to Columbus, resulting in his eventual commitment to the program. 

The former four-star had also taken visits to Michigan and UCLA, with Tennessee also attempting to get themselves into the race for his signature.

Once the No. 1 ranked player in the state of New Jersey, and the No. 13 defensive back prospect, Igbinosun had originally picked the Rebels over Duke, Rutgers, Pittsburgh and Tennessee.

Igbinosun played in 13 games for Ole Miss as a true freshman, recording 36 total tackles and five pass breakups. 

The former four-star cornerback was a member of Ole Miss' 2022 signing class and the No. 1 high school recruit coming out of New Jersey in 2022.
