BREAKING: Ohio State Lands Ole Miss Transfer RB Quinshon Judkins
The Ohio State Buckeyes have just hit a massive homerun via the NCAA Transfer Portal, with former Ole Miss running back Quinshon Judkins committing to the program on Monday night following the conclusion of the National Championship.
Judkins was coming off of a recent visit to Colombus, after which the Buckeyes quickly became the favorite to land the former SEC standout.
The running back announced his intention to enter the transfer portal on Jan. 4 on the heels of Ole Miss' historic 11-2 season.
"I have loved my time here at Ole Miss and am grateful for the opportunity to grow as a football player and person within this program," Judkins said on X.
His post continued with a thank you to the fans, teammates and coaching staff at Ole Miss, and he signed off asking for respect for his decision.
"I hope you understand and respect my choice," Judkins said. "Love you all and wish nothing but success."
Judkins became the first SEC player since Herschel Walker with 15-plus touchdowns in each of his first two collegiate seasons in 2023, and he led the SEC in rushing touchdowns the last two years.
C.J. Stroud's Record Rookie Season Puts Him In The Elitist of Company
In total in his two years at Ole Miss, Judkins was arguably the best running back in the SEC rushing 545 times for 7,725 yards and 31 touchdowns with three receiving touchdowns.
Judkins will now enter a running back room where he will immediately compete for the starting job, whether or not TreVeyon Henderson returns or heads to the NFL.
With Judkins now in tow, should Henderson indeed stay and forgo the NFL Draft for one more season, the Buckeyes would possess arguably the best 1-2 punch at running back in the county.
Judkins is now the third Ole Miss standout to land with Ohio State in recent years, joining Davison Igbonosun and Tywone Malone
