Paul Finebaum Believes Jim Harbaugh Will Not Coach Michigan in 2024

Paul Finebaum predicts Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh will announce his departure from the Wolverines following Monday's National Championship game.

The Ohio State Buckeyes and coach Ryan Day might find a different face on the opposing sideline when they play the Michigan Wolverines next year.

During an appearance on "Get Up," Finebaum said he believes Wolverines coach Jim Harbaugh will announce his departure from the NFL following next Monday's National Championship game.

Finebaum listed several reasons for his prediction to host Mike Greenberg some of which stemmed from this year's controversy over illegal, in-person scouting which landed Harbaugh a three-game suspension from the Big Ten Conference.

Add that to interest from NFL teams about hiring Harbaugh and the potential for an additional punishment (or punishments) from the NCAA, and Finebaum's case for the nine-year coach to leave seems solid.

"He's already accomplished what he set out to do, and that's make Michigan relevant again," Finebaum said. "Three straight playoff appearances and the national title game is relevant. But Greeny, that's not the real reason. He's got the NCAA around the corner. And there's a lot of speculation that Jim Harbaugh could get suspended again next year... He is leaving Michigan after next Monday night."

According to Finebaum, the result of the National Championship will have no play on Harbaugh's decision to stay or go.

The Buckeyes are scheduled to play the Wolverines on November 30, 2024.
