The Rutgers Scarlet Knights will bring a strong rushing attack against the Ohio State Buckeyes on Saturday.

The Ohio State Buckeyes could be tested more than fans think on Saturday.

Although not especially known for producing top offensive prospects, Rutgers is not unfamiliar with the game by any means. In the last eight years, the Scarlet Knights have helped make names for Chiefs starting back Isiah Pacheco, Ravens starting back Gus Edwards, and Dolphins tight end Tyler Kroft.

And this year's version of the Scarlet Knights looks to have some serious talent as well. Particularly on the ground, where Ohio State could have a big challenge this weekend.

Below are the Rutgers' top offensive players to watch Saturday in Piscataway, New Jersey.

RB Kyle Monangai

At No. 2 in rush yards in the conference, junior back Kyle Monangai has ripped up opposing defenses this season. He’s posted 100-plus yards in four games and ranks top 50 in rushing touchdowns in the nation.

However, Monangai will face a rigid defensive line — one that started off the season slow but has held opponents to 87.25 rush yards in the last four games. The Buckeyes faced a tough test against Wisconsin last season, but will have a much more difficult task containing Monangai Saturday.

QB Gavin Wimsatt

Although the Knights passing game ranks in the bottom half of the conference, junior quarterback Gavin Wimsatt has taken his talents to the ground this season.

He has posted the 11th-most rush yards in the conference with 362, and also has seven touchdowns on the ground. The duo has made the most of exploiting defenses on the ground; particularly, the Knights are coming off a win against Indiana where Wimsatt posted 143 rush yards and three touchdowns.

Ohio State has done a good job on QB contains this season — unless Wimsatt breaks out for a big passing game, which likely won’t happen given the Buckeyes’ stellar secondary, he will have to keep rushing the ball until he finds big gaps.

Rutgers Offensive Line

The Knights have consistently shown they have done a great job protecting the quarterback all season. They have allowed a conference-best seven sacks, which is also good for eighth-best nationally.

Led by redshirt seniors Curtis Dunlap Jr. and Reggie Sutton, the line has done a great job opening gaps for Wimsatt and Monangai. Though, once again, they will have a tough test facing defensive ends Jack Sawyer and J.T. Tuimoloau, it will be a battle on both sides.
