Are Ohio State's Offensive Line Issues Correctable? Ryan Day Thinks So

Ryan Day shared what he saw when they went back and watched the tape from a season-opening win.
In this story:

Coaches almost exclusively default to "watching the tape" when they're asked questions in postgame press conference about a player's performance.

Well, Ohio State head coach Ryan Day and his staff certainly had a lot to digest from Saturday's opener. There were lots of good things that should instill some confidence, but there were plenty of moments that made you remember it was the first game of the year with three new starters on the line.

In his 52 games coaching the Buckeyes, Saturday's 23-3 win over Indiana was only the fourth time a Ryan Day offense was held under 30 points in a game. The other three times came against an elite Iowa defense last year, against Northwestern last year in miserable weather, and in the 2021 National Championship Game against Alabama when the Buckeyes were missing several key players because of CoVID-19.

There were clearly issues on the left side of the offensive line in Week 1, but were they coaching, schematic or personnel problems?

Day claims everything he saw on tape is fixable, he shared which linemen graded out as champions on Saturday, said they aren't going to be a team that solely relies on throwing the ball and shared Kyle McCord's reaction to watching the film together.

Brendan Gulick and Anthony Moeglin break down their reaction to Day's comments, as well as whether or not we got any clarity on the QB situation moving forward on Wednesday morning's episode of the Buckeye Breakdown podcast!
