Ohio State RB TreVeyon Henderson Praises QB Kyle McCord's Response After INT
Ohio State Buckeyes running back TreVeyon Henderson has played with his fair share of starting quarterbacks during his time with the Buckeyes.
Henderson shared the field with two more signal-callers on Saturday against the Indiana Hoosiers, including starter Kyle McCord.
One of the low points for the Mount Laurel, New Jersey-native came in the second quarter, when McCord threw his first interception of the season. Henderson said after the game that McCord was quick to move on after his mistake, and focus on the next drive.
"He wasn't down or anything" Henderson said. "Shoot, I feel like he did a good job of just letting it go, man, next play mentality."
McCord finished 20-of-33 through the air for 239 yards along with the aforementioned pick. Sophomore Devin Brown also saw action in the game, but went 1-of-3 for -2 yards over seven plays.
Plenty of rust was present during the Ohio State victory on both sides of the ball, but Henderson said the slow start was not a sign of problems with the Buckeyes.
"I know who this team is, man," Henderson said. "I know the players we have, the coaches we have, the type of program we have. This is just the beginning."
Ohio State returns home to Columbus next weekend to host the Youngstown State Penguins at Ohio Stadium. Henderson said with an opening-weekend victory and another week of practice under their belt, Ohio State would be closer to displaying their full potential.
"We're just getting started, man," Henderson said. "Once we clean up, watch out. Once we clean up, just watch out."
