WATCH: Ryan Day Gives Update on Ohio State Fall Camp

Day takes the podium to answer questions about athletic director Gene Smith's retirement announcement, Big Ten expansion and the first few days of Buckeyes camp.

Ohio State head coach Ryan Day is scheduled to speak to media Wednesday morning from the Woody Hayes Athletic Center.

Day and the Buckeyes started preseason activities last week, marking what many regard as the official beginning of the 2023 football season.

Plenty has already happened through the first handful of camp practices, including the first of two sessions open to fans and media, and the first college snaps for new recruits and transfers.

Most recently, Ohio State players moved in Monday to the hotel which will serve as the team’s home base for the few weeks of camp, leading up to official practices later this month.

Last time Day was at the podium, there were plenty of questions about the battle for the starting quarterback position between Kyle McCord and Devin Brown.

Day said there would not be a decision made until closer to the start of the regular season, if at all, mentioning he might roll with a two-quarterback model for the first few weeks.

The Buckeyes helmsman also spoke about his role in play-calling, which he said at the end of last season would be primarily the job of offensive coordinator Brian Hartline.

Day said he and Hartline are currently working on finding the best format in that regard, and that it might not always be consistent.

Over the past week, assistant coaches Tony Alford (running backs), Perry Eliano (safeties) and some of the assistant coaches have given updates on their respective positions, along with selections of their players.

Tune in live to Day’s press conference, streaming live on the BuckeyesNow YouTube channel at approximately 11:30 a.m. eastern time.
