WATCH: Marvin Harrison Jr. Scores Three Early Ohio State Buckeyes TDs vs. Michigan State Spartans
After a disappointing showing vs. the Rutgers Scarlet Knights last week, the Ohio State Buckeyes were looking to come out swinging vs. the Michigan State Spartans on Saturday night.
And that is exactly what they did, with star wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. giving the Buckeyes a quick 14-0 lead after their first two drives in Columbus.
The first Harrison Jr. touchdown came on the Buckeyes' opening drive, with the No. 1 Buckeye wideout rushing for a 19-yard score on a reverse to put Ohio State up 7-0, and allowing it to take the early momentum.
It was the first rushing touchdown of Harrison Jr.'s elite career.
The second score came on the next drive for the Buckeyes, with quarterback Kyle McCord hitting Harrison Jr. on a beautiful 26-yard touchdown pass.
It was the 11th connection for a score between Harrison Jr. and McCord for the season.
However, Harrison Jr. wasn't done there, on the very next drive, Harrison Jr. found a way to get into the end zone yet again.
This time, it was on a nine-yard pitch and catch from McCord, putting the Buckeyes up 21-0.
With the touchdown catch, Harrison Jr. tied his career high for touchdowns in a game for the Buckeyes, with the other two coming in 2022.
The first of those three touchdown performances came against Arkansas State on September 10, while the second came against this very same Michigan State team last season in East Lansing.
And with two quarters left to play, there is a very good chance he could surpass that on Saturday night.
