Rise and shine, Buckeye Nation! Each morning, we get you caught up on the latest news and information regarding the Ohio State Buckeyes and the college athletics world. Here are your headlines for July 20, 2020.
TreVeyon Henderson says he won't transfer high schools
With the announcement last week that the Virginia High School League would not play football this fall, TreVeyon Henderson had some thinking to do. He initially said he would consider all of his options - and that included perhaps transferring to a private school out-of-state to play one final year of high school football. But it looks like he's made up his mind.
Henderson rank for 3,193 yards and 53 touchdowns as a junior after primarily playing safety during his freshman and sophomore seasons. He's accepted an invitation to play in the 2021 All-American Bowl. Henderson is a 5-star prospect and is considered the No. 1 running back in the nation.
Jack Nicklaus announces he and his wife Barbara had Coronavirus
The Golden Bear's annual tournament wrapped up at Murifield Village Golf Club on Sunday with Jon Rahm taking home the victory and earning the new distinction as the new No. 1 player in the Official World Golf Ranking. But it was former Buckeye and tournament host Jack Nicklaus' announcement on CBS' telecast that resonated with viewers around the world.
During an interview while the tournament was briefly suspended by rain on Sunday afternoon, Nicklaus shared with Jim Nantz that he and his wife Barbara were both diagnosed with CoVID-19 back in March when the pandemic first struck. He said they both recovered about a month later and are feeling healthy.
We hope you have a great day - and remember ... time and change will surely show, how firm thy friendship OHIO!
