LOOK: Chicago Bears QB Justin Fields Graduates From Ohio State
Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields and incoming team president Kevin Warren reconnected on Sunday at Ohio State’s Senior Commencement.
Warren was commissioner of the Big Ten conference at the same time as Fields was leading the Buckeyes on the gridiron. A picture of the two, shared by the Chicago Bears on Twitter, currently has 174,000 views, 225 retweets, and almost 5,000 likes.
The two will see a lot more of each other in the coming months when they begin their first season together in Chicago. Warren is set to become the new team president and chief executive officer (CEO), and Fields returns to quarterback the Bears for the 2023-24 campaign.
The 59-year-old Warren filled the Bears’ open front-office role in January. Ted Phillips preceded Warren as president and CEO but retired from the team after 40 years of service at the post.
Fields is entering year three with the Bears in the National Football League (NFL). The 2022-23 season saw Fields complete 60.4% of his passes for 2,242 yards and 17 touchdowns with 11 interceptions.
Fields has over 4,000 yards and a 24:21 touchdown-to-interception ratio over his young, two-year career.
Warren will probably not have much day-to-day contact with Fields, as their roles are mostly detached from one another.
However, given their viral weekend photo-op, you can guess the pair might have meetings at the water cooler than the distance between their offices would suggest.
