Buckeyes Land Commitment From Northwestern Transfer LB Nigel Glover
The Ohio State Buckeyes already had a talented group of linebackers at their disposal heading into the new season.
And now, that group has gotten a little bit deeper, with former four-star Northwestern linebacker Nigel Glover committing to the program on Tuesday afternoon.
Glover entered the transfer portal after the Wildcats' firing of Pat Fitzgerald and picked the Buckeyes over pursuit from many other Power 5 programs, including Michigan and Kentucky.
“First, because of their development,” Glover said. “They have great coaching. My decision came down to where I can be developed the most. At Ohio State, I can be developed at the highest level. It’s a long-term investment.”
Glover was not offered a scholarship by the Buckeyes coming out of high school as part of the 2023 class.
The 6-foot-2, 214 Northmont (Dayton, OH) native was ranked as the No. 10 prospect in the state of Ohio per On3, as well as the No. 31 linebacker and the No. 306 player nationally.
Glover now joins C.J. Hicks, Mitchell Melton, Steele Chambers, Reid Carrico, Cody Simon, Tommy Eichenberg, Gabe Powers, Arvell Reese, Alec DelSignore and Jalen Pace in the Buckeyes linebacker room.
Ohio State also has a commitment from four-star Payton Pierce in the class of 2024.
