Dylan Raiola Georgia Commitment 'Means A lot' to Ohio State WR Pledge Jeremiah Smith
Dylan Raiola, a five-star quarterback from the class of 2024 that de-committed from the Ohio State Buckeyes, announced his commitment to the Georgia Bulldogs Monday.
Well, that decision caught the attention of Ohio State class of 2024 wide receiver commit Jeremiah Smith.
“Georgia getting Dylan means a lot to me and my interest in them,” Smith told On3's Chad Simmons. “I have to really give Georgia a look now that they have Dylan.”
Raiola and Smith were both Buckeye commits for three days before Raiola's decommitment on Dec. 17, 2022. They both represent On3's Nos. 1 and 2 players in the class of 2024, respectively.
Smith told BuckeyesNow in March that the top schools still recruiting him are Georgia, Miami, and USC and that he isn't "going to cut nobody off."
"They're top schools still because you never know what could happen at Ohio State," Smith said. "Coach Hartline gets fired, coaching changes, coach Hartline might get a job offer in the NFL, he might take it, so I got to keep that relationship open with all the coaches."
He quote tweeted side-eye emojis in response to Georgia class of 2024 wide receiver commit Ny Carr's asking of Smith to join the Bulldogs' recruiting class Monday.
However, Smith tweeted Monday afternoon that he's "just having fun," likely a reference to fans' outpouring reactions to a potential decommitment.
