'I'm Not A Test Taker, I Play Football': C.J. Stroud Responds to S2 Test Criticisms

Former Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback C.J. Stroud is not concerned about his alleged S2 Test results and has a message for those who are.

Amidst the criticisms after former Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback C.J. Stroud's results on the S2 Test were released, he responded to those doubting him Wednesday.

Though Stroud said he doesn't know what his final score was, it was reported he received an 18 out of 100 on the S2 Test, which "measures how players process and make split-second decisions." His alleged score was the lowest of any of the top-five quarterbacks and was labeled a "red flag" by an NFL executive.

"I'm not a test taker, so I play football for me," Stroud said. "I'm not going to sit here and explain how I process football. The people who are making the picks know what I can do, so that's all that matters to me."

Stroud went from being the clear-cut favorite to be the first-overall selection in the NFL Draft to now slipping down draft boards. He will likely still be a top-five pick in Thursday's draft, as the Carolina Panthers, Houston Texans and Indianapolis Colts are all in the market for a quarterback.

The two-time Heisman Trophy finalist said it's easy for people to criticize his play on social media, but "what's tough is stepping in the arena 10 toes" — a mantra that Ryan Day has emphasized as head coach of Ohio State.

The Inland Empire, CA. native said he knows he can process football well, and is confident in his cognitive abilities in the NFL.

"If I'm not the smartest quarterback in this draft, I know I'm one of the smartest quarterbacks in the NFL when I step in there tomorrow, so I have confidence in myself," Stroud said. "I don't think you can play at Ohio State and not be smart."

Stroud said he doesn't have anything to prove to anybody.

"If you don't trust and believe in me, all I can tell you is watch this," Stroud said.
