'He's An NBA Player': Bronny James Garners Impressive Evaluations From NBA Scouts
Every pair of eyes, camera and microscope have closely watched combo guard Bronny James' senior season at Sierra Canyon High School ahead of his college commitment.
The potential Ohio State Buckeye once again put his talents on display on the national stage in the McDonald's All-American Game Tuesday. James scored 15 points on 5-for-8 from 3, hauling in one rebound and tied for a game-high four assists in just under 20 minutes, as NBA scouts were impressed with what they saw.
“Bronny won’t get drafted because he’s LeBron’s kid,” an NBA scout said. “He’ll get drafted because he’s an NBA player. He works hard, goes about his business, and is tough.”
Another scout said James is a good, two-three year college player.”
James narrowed down his final three options to Ohio State, Oregon, and USC on Jan. 21, as the No. 35 recruit in the class of 2023 is the only top-50 player and one of two top-100 players to have not committed yet.
His father, Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James, has said he wants to play with Bronny James in the NBA, which may be a couple of years in the making.
He also took to Twitter on March 6 to weigh in on his assessment of Bronny James' abilities.
"Man Bronny definitely better than some of these cats I've been watching on league pass today," James said in a tweet.
Bronny James could become the fourth top-50 recruit in Ohio State's No. 8-ranked class of 2023.
