LOOK: Cowboys QB Dak Prescott Rocks Ezekiel Elliott's Buckeyes Jersey on Game Day
In what has become a more popular tradition over the years, donning pregame outfits for professional athletes is almost certain to attracts media attention of all sorts.
Styles and looks that can sometimes be tabbed as "out there" are what normally spark the most conversation while legacy and throwback jerseys tend to warrant a positive response, and Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott was the most recent player to hop on the latter trend.
As Prescott entered AT&M stadium for the Cowboys' final preseason game of the year, he was seen wearing an old jersey of his former teammate Ezekiel Elliott, but it wasn't a Cowboys jersey — it was an Ohio State Buckeyes one.
Prescott and Elliott spent seven seasons together with the Cowboys, entering the league in 2016 with plans to continue and build upon the success that star quarterback Tony Romo found in Dallas — the main goal being to win a Super Bowl.
Unfortunately, the pairing did not find that kind of success, and after the conclusion of the pair's seventh season, Elliott was released by Dallas and later signed by the New England Patriots.
With the Buckeyes, Elliott amassed 3,961 rushing yards and 43 touchdowns — both enough to put him in third place all-time in Ohio State program history —but despite the immense success he found in Columbus, it didn't translate as much as he would have hoped in terms of team success.
Either way, Elliott has a proven talent and is an asset to any NFL team, whether in the top spot or as a backup. Now, he'll look to prove that once more in New England — and when that happens, his former teammate will be supporting him from afar.
