Ohio State OUT in Joe Lunardi's Latest ESPN Bracketology Prediction
The month of March will contain much less dancing than in previous years, according to basketball analyst Joe Lunardi.
Lunardi published his latest NCAA Bracketology report Friday on ESPN.com, outlining his picks for the top overall team, the first ones in and out, and a bracket with predictions for all 68 schools.
The Ohio State Buckeyes, having previously been listed among the first eight teams to miss out on the tournament, are now nowhere to be found.
The unranked Buckeyes lost on Thursday at home against the Wisconsin Badgers, falling just short of a comeback, 65-60. Ohio State is now 11-11 overall and 3-8 when facing off against Big Ten opponents.
Head coach Chris Holtmann and his squad aren't the only teams in the conference on the verge of missing out on what is commonly referred to as "The Big Dance."
Six others are at risk of missing the cut, including some of the usual powerhouse programs like Wisconsin, Penn State and Michigan.
However, that leaves the other eight teams in a position to compete for the title, which is tied for the most by a single conference alongside the Big 12.
After a 77-69 loss against the Wolverines in Ann Arbor on Sunday, the picture isn't looking much much brighter.
