Former Ohio State Buckeyes QB C.J. Stroud Sets NFL Record vs. Atlanta Falcons
One of the biggest keys for quarterbacks is protecting the football. Interceptions are momentum killers and, more often than not, they leave points on the board. That's why the Houston Texans have to feel lucky about rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud, who hasn't thrown a pick yet in his young career.
The former Ohio State Buckeye has gotten off to a hot start for Houston and is now a favorite to take home the Rookie of the Year award. Stroud marked off another milestone on Sunday, setting an NFL record for most pass attempts without an interception to start a career.
Stroud surpassed his 177th pass attempt, which was the previous record held by Dak Prescott, on Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons. He's having one of the best starts in NFL history for a rookie quarterback and has brought Houston what they wanted when they drafted him.

In the past two weeks, the ex-Buckeye has led the Texans to as many wins and put up big numbers while doing so. Stroud was ranked seventh in passing yards league-wide headed into this Sunday's contest, far ahead of any other rookie field general.
He's likely surpassed the highest hopes that the Texans had for him when he was selected second overall in this past April's draft. In his career at Ohio State, he showed the same accuracy, throwing just 12 interceptions to his 85 touchdowns.
The NFL calendar is far from over, with 13 games left until the final week of the regular season, but Stroud is certainly on the right track early. He seems to mature more every game, with the preparation of a professional that he's carried since his days in Columbus.
It's an incredibly promising start to what could be a very special career for Stroud.
