Ohio State Buckeyes Stay Put in AP Top-25 Rankings After Blowout Win vs. Purdue
The Ohio State Buckeyes have kept their spot at No. 3 in the latest Associated Press's Top-25 rankings even after a dominant 41-7 win on the road over the Purdue Boilermakers.
In the past, the Boilermakers have been a problem for the Buckeyes, especially when Ohio State has had to go on the road to face in the Ross-Ade Stadium. Heading into Saturday's matchup, the Boilermakers had won four of the last 10 games versus the Buckeyes.
However, things were different on Saturday for the Buckeyes as they didn't let nightmares of the past get repeated and instead took care of business against a Big-10 opponent.
Ohio State didn't so much as let the Boilermakers breathe from the beginning as they jumped out to a quick 13-0 lead in the first quarter before tacking on three more touchdowns in the second and third quarters to make it 34-0 heading into the fourth.
After holding Purdue scoreless for the first three quarters, the Boilermakers did get on the board in the final quarter, as quarterback Hudson Card found Deion Burks for a six-yard passing touchdown, which would be answered later by the Buckeyes' second-string signal-caller Devin Brown, who found Brandon McInniss to secure the 41-7 win.
Elsewhere, the Buckeyes' northern rivals, Michigan, continued their dominance with a 52-7 win over Indiana. However, despite their blowout wins, the Georgia Bulldogs still remain No. 1, even after a 37-20 win over the Vanderbilt Commodores.
