A new program record and a national champion — again.

Ohio State Buckeyes track and field star Adelaide Aquilla's 19.28-meter shot put throw at the NCAA Championships in Albuquerque, NM. Saturday broke the program's previous indoor record of 19.09 meters — which she also owned — as she took home her fourth national championship of her career.

The graduate from Rocky River, OH. now has two indoor and two outdoor national championships for shot put, owning the women's collegiate shot put record in which she threw 19.64 meters at the 2022 Outdoor NCAA Championships.

Her first national championship came in March 2021 with an 18.12-meter throw at indoors, as her 18.98- and 19.64-meter throws at the 2021 and 2022 Outdoor NCAA Championships earned her second and third titles, respectively.

Aquilla represented the United States in the 2020 Olympics, finishing 20th in the qualifying round in Tokyo with a 17.68-meter throw.

The 2022 U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Indoor and Outdoor First Team All-American also holds the program's outdoor discus throw record at 57.86 meters.
