Ohio State Women's Lacrosse Parts Ways with Head Coach Amy Bokker
Ohio State women's lacrosse head coach Amy Bokker has been relieved of her duties after four seasons with the Buckeyes, per a Department of Athletics release.
"On behalf of the department, I want to thank Amy for her leadership of our women's lacrosse program over the last four years," Ohio State Senior Deputy Director of Athletics Janine Oman said. "She has provided special memories and experiences to our student-athletes during this time."
Ohio State's statement added that the search for the program's fourth head coach "will begin immediately," and associate head coach Gabby Capuzzi Soloman will take over on an interim basis.
Bokker was hired back in June of 2019, and led her teams to a 23-32 overall record since that time. In the Big Ten Conference, Bokker's teams went 6-18, including an 0-6 performance this season.
"I want to thank Gene Smith and the Ohio State University for this opportunity," Bokker said. "My family and I have enjoyed being a part of this spirited community during these past four years."
"I wish future success to the student-athletes and the program," Bokker added.
Bokker has been a collegiate head coach for 26 years, and coached at three other schools - American, George Mason and Stanford - prior to taking the Ohio State job. In total, Bokker has an impressive 268-193 career record.
