'Don't Be Dumb!': Ohio State Buckeyes QB C.J. Stroud Makes Case For Marvin Harrison Jr. As No. 1 WR in NFL Draft
Ohio State Buckeyes receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. has quite a few notable people in his corner.
The Buckeyes pass-catcher received another glowing endorsement on Monday, this time from former Scarlet and Gray quarterback C.J. Stroud. Harrison's ex-teammate gave some simple advice to general managers ahead of next week's NFL Draft.
"Whoever's up there, be smart," Stroud said. "Don't be dumb."
Harrison and Stroud were both dynamic parts of the Buckeyes back in 2022, compiling over 3,600 passing yards and 1,200 receiving yards, respectively. In fact, Harrison was on the receiving end of 14 of Stroud's 41 passing touchdowns that season.
Stroud told Texans reporters during a press conference on Monday he was confused by some of the recent takes surrounding Harrison. In his mind, the things being said about his former teammates contradicted one another.
"I read something like he's NFL ready, but other guys have more potential," Stroud said. "That makes no sense. Like, what? If you're NFL-ready, how is there not potential? You want longevity, you want somebody that's been doing it. For him, that's what he sleeps, he eats and he breathes."
Harrison is currently projected to be a top-three selection in next Thursday's 2024 NFL Draft. The Texans do not have a pick in the first round at the moment, but Stroud said he would be eager to reunite with Harrison should that change.
"I would love to play with him again," Stroud said. "I know I probably won't get that opportunity for a while. But I'm super, super proud of him."
