Ohio State picks up Toledo native in the class of 2024

The class of 2024 continues to take shape for Ohio State football recruiting, and it was added upon midweek with the verbal commitment announcement of Marc Nave Jr.

The Toledo (Ohio) Central Catholic offensive line recruit announced his pledge to Ryan Day's program via social media on Wednesday, selecting the in-state Buckeyes over some 20 additional scholarship offers.

Listed at 6-foot-5, 315 pounds, Nave is the fourth verbal commitment to pledge to OSU's class of 2024, second in-state after Garrett Stover and second among offensive linemen following Ian Moore. Nave also represents the first OSU pledge in the New Year, as No. 1-ranked wide receiver Jeremiah Smith was previously the most recent in mid-December.

Nave was one of the newer targets for OSU offensive line coach Justin Frye, too, learning of the Buckeye tender in January. He was in Columbus over the weekend and clearly saw enough to jump into the program's next recruiting class. He was also in town late in the regular season for a gameday visit.

After OSU offered, Nave secured options at Auburn, Louisville, and others before electing to end the process. As a junior in 2022, he helped Central Catholic to the Division II state championship crown as a swing line prospect, primarily working on the inside.

Nave ranks as a three-star recruit across the board, with his highest tab coming from Rivals as the No. 13 interior offensive line projection in the class of 2024.
