Ohio State Buckeyes Land Commitment From Florida Safety Leroy Roker

The Ohio State Buckeyes landed their second commitment this week from the state of Florida - this time in safety Leroy Roker.

The Ohio State Buckeyes are gaining some serious momentum on the recruiting trail.

And oddly enough, that momentum is coming from the southeast, with the Buckeyes landing their second commitment of the week from the state of Florida.

However, this time it came in the 2024 class, with Bishop Verot (Fort Myers, FL) safety Leroy Roker committing to the program.

Roker now becomes the 22nd commitment of the 2024 class for the Buckeyes, in what has emerged as arguably the nation's top class.

The Ohio State class currently ranks No. 1 on Rivals, No. 2 on On3, No. 2 on ESPN, and No. 2 on 247Sports.

Roker picked the Buckeyes over offers from Iowa, Miami, Old Dominion and South Dakota.

“Ohio State has a great program,” Roker told Bucknuts in an interview. “I really appreciated it when they offered me. I really appreciated it when coach Eliano came out and watched me practice.”

Roker joins a class headlined but multiple five-star talents, including receivers Jeremiah Smith and Mylan Graham, defensive linemen Justin Scott and Eddrick Houston, and quarterback Air Noland.

The Buckeyes also have pledges from multiple defensive backs as well alongside Roker, including cornerback Miles Lockhart, Aaron Scott Jr. and Bryce West, and safety Jaylen McClain.

Ohio State also got a commitment from the state of Florida, earlier this week, in standout wide receiver Jayvon Boggs, who has been compared to former Buckeyes star Jackson Smith-Njigba.

It is unclear how many more bodies the Buckeyes will add to the 2024 class from here, but as it stands now, they are on the verge of having another historic class.
