Updated Recruiting Rankings Peg Ohio State's 2024 Class at No. 3

Buckeye commitment Jeremiah Smith now the nation's top-ranked offensive recruit

As the college football world shifts its recruiting focus to the class of 2024, multiple recruiting outlets have updated rankings for the rising-senior class.

It of course creates a domino effect on the early class rankings, and the latest update from On3 Sports has created some shuffle during the week. Following the new On300 rankings release, Ohio State now stands with the No. 3 overall recruiting class to date.

Only Georgia and Alabama sit above the Buckeyes at this time, each with more verbal commitments on board than Ryan Day's program as of March 1. The outlet now calls their rankings the 'On3 Industry Ranking' as it takes weighted averages of other major recruiting outlets into consideration.

As for the OSU pledges, Jeremiah Smith of course checks in as the top prospect, holding his post as the No. 1 wide receiver nationally although his overall ranking slipped to No. 3 overall behind pass-rusher Dylan Stewart and defensive interior projection Williams Nwaneri, both uncommitted thus far.

Smith stands as the top-ranked offensive prospect for the first time, however, as former No. 1-ranked recruit and former Ohio State quarterback commitment Dylan Raiola was moved from No. 1 down to No. 6 overall.

OSU's top pledge has not only been dominant in football settings early this offseason, his track season is also off to a strong start in various sprints and even hurdling events with nationally-recognized times already on the board.

Ian Moore, the Indiana native who picked OSU back in October, checks in as a blue-chip recruit across the board as an interior offensive line projection. He is the No. 2 IOL projection according to the On3 industry rank, placing him in the top 100 nationally overall.

Linebacker Garrett Stover, who jumped on board back in November, is also four stars on every outlet, with the industry ranking among the top 15 projections at linebacker. An in-state star, Stover is also considered a top-five overall recruit in the state of Ohio's 2024 class.
