Big 12 Conference officials responded Saturday to a pair of questionable calls in Kansas' 38-33 win over Oklahoma

The first play, a 24-yard completion from Kansas quarterback Jason Bean to wide receiver Quentin Skinner, was ruled a catch and reviewed by game officials after Skinner left the field of play, but returned to make the catch after the ball went through the hands of OU defensive end Trace Ford.

Big 12 officials were asked if Skinner was ruled to have touched his right foot inbounds, reestablishing himself in the field of play before the tip? And did the pass deflection have any bearing on re-establishment?

What was the official rule on that situation?

According to a statement from the Big 12, "the ball was touched by the defense so the offensive player's right foot re-established him in bounds and (he) can legally touch the ball."

The second play occurred in the fourth quarter, when Bean rushed for two yards and slid short of the goal line when he was hit hard by Safety Reggie Pearson and prevented from scoring.

The play was reviewed for targeting and the ruling on the field was overturned. It was ruled as targeting.

The indicator, according to a statement from the Big 12, was Pearson "is taking aim and lower(ing) the shoulder to make forceable contact to the head and neck area of a defenseless player."

Pearson was ejected and the Jayhawks eventually scored.
