The Red River Rivalry is on the big network this year.

ESPN announced Tuesday that the Oct. 7 Oklahoma-Texas game will be carried by ABC. No start time has been announced yet for the 119th edition of OU-Texas.

After losing quarterback Dillon Gabriel the week before, Oklahoma limped through last year's showdown at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, falling 49-0 to the Longhorns – the Sooners' worst margin of defeat ever against their rival.

OU finished 6-7 in Brent Venables' maiden season, the first losing season by the Sooners since 1998.

Oklahoma's season kicks off on Sept. 2 with a home game against Arkansas State. OU then hosts SMU on Sept. 9 and visits Tulsa on Sept. 16 before visiting Cincinnati to open Big 12 play on Sept. 23. Before heading to Dallas to take on the Longhorns, The Sooners host Iowa State on Sept. 30.
