OKLAHOMA CITY — Oklahoma's 2025 recruiting class just got a lot more dynamic.
On Saturday afternoon, 4-star wide receiver Jaden Nickens committed to OU over Oklahoma State, Arkansas and Texas A&M, among others.
The Oklahoma City Millwood standout chose the Sooners at a ceremony on Saturday at The Daily on May.
Nickens attended the Brent Venables Elite Camp earlier this summer and performed very well, easily winning multiple 1-on-1 reps against talented multiple defensive backs.
Listed at 6-foot-3 and 190 pounds, Nickens is the No. 88 overall player and the No. 12 wide receiver in the nation, according to 247Sports. An explosive playmaker down the field, Nickens is very athletic and has even reeled in multiple Division I basketball offers.
"Hopefully OU will continue to let me play basketball," Nickens said Saturday.

Nickens joins fellow 4-star wideouts Gracen Harris and Elijah Thomas in Oklahoma's 2025 class, becoming Brent Venables' fifth pledge in next year's recruiting cycle. With 4-star quarterback Kevin Sperry also committed, OU's 2025 class is currently one of the top five in the nation.
Sperry, Harris, Thomas and Nickens make for an impressive group of skill position players, and gives Sperry three highly touted targets to work with. Additionally, locking down a pledge from Nickens continues Emmett Jones' remarkable run on the recruiting trail.
Nickens also plays 7-on-7 for the Miami Immortals, a national travel team.
He told AllSooners in March that a dual-sport career in football and basketball was something weighing into his decision. But if he has to choose, he'll do so at the right time.
“When it comes time for college, I’ll be ready to make that decision,” Nickens said. “Because my body’s worth millions. So I want two try that both-ways route, but I’m worth a lot of money and I just want to keep my body fresh and clean for when I get to the league, so I won’t be beat up too soon.”

Jaden Nickens Has Always "Loved" Oklahoma
With five scholarship wide receivers in Oklahoma's 2024 class and now three scholarship pass catchers in the 2025 cycle, Jones has helped land a wealth of talent for his position group. With OU still in the mix for a few more skilled wideouts, Jones will have the chance to further add to his room.
Venables and company can now turn all their focus to Williams Nwaneri, a 5-star recruit from Lee's Summit North (MO). Rated the nation's No. 1 defensive lineman and No. 1 overall player per On3, Nwaneri will announce his decision Monday at 3 p.m. at his high school.
The 6-foot-6 edge rusher is set to decide between Oklahoma, Missouri, Tennessee, Georgia and Oregon, with the Sooners and Tigers seemingly in the lead for the program-changing prospect.
