On Monday afternoon, Oklahoma senior defensive back Key Lawrence entered the transfer portal.

Lawrence, who originally transferred to OU from Tennessee along with Wanya Morris and Eric Gray, racked up 149 tackles, 12 pass breakups, 10 tackles for loss, six forced fumbles, three interceptions and one sack.

Lawrence has played 35 career games for the Sooners in his three seasons with the team. The 6-foot-1, 206-pound safety took part in senior day festivities against TCU and seemingly will have one year of eligibility remaining.

The former Volunteer is the second OU defensive player to announce his entrance into the transfer portal, joining veteran defensive lineman Reggie Grimes. Coming out of Ensworth High School (TN), Lawrence was rated a 4-star recruit, ranked the No. 81 overall player and the No. 6 safety in the 2020 recruiting class.

In addition to Lawrence and Grimes, fellow Sooners Dillon Gabriel, Savion Byrd and Nate Anderson all announced on Monday that were also entering the transfer portal.
