Oklahoma Lands Commitment from 2023 OL

C.J. Compton is a versatile offensive lineman from nearby Bethel who has been rated as a 3-star prospect and one of the top players in Oklahoma.

Another local talent has chosen Oklahoma.

The Sooners received a verbal commitment Tuesday from C.J. Compton, an offensive lineman from nearby Bethel. Compton made the announcement on Twitter.

Compton is 6-foot-6 and 290 pounds in the 2023 recruiting class. It is believed he will be a preferred walk-on at OU. 

On3 rates him as a 3-star prospect, the No. 85 interior offensive lineman in the nation and the No. 13 prospect in the state who had been “receiving interest” from Oklahoma State. 

His On3 profile also reflects he had been previously committed to the Cowboys.

He went into his senior year with offers from Central Oklahoma, Northeastern State and Arkansas Tech, among others.

According to his Hudl profile, Compton started 11 games at center, three at left guard and 17 at left tackle. He also has a background in powerlifting and previously played basketball at Bethel.
