Oklahoma Lands Commitment from Edge Rusher via Transfer Portal
On Thursday evening, Oklahoma fortified its defensive line with a commitment from Miami (OH) transfer defensive lineman Caiden Woullard.
Woullard and his family visited Norman recently, with the talented defensive lineman committing to Brent Venables, Miguel Chavis and company just a few days later.
Listed at 6-foot-5 and 250 pounds, Woullard spent three seasons with the Redhawks, tallying 9.5 sacks as a junior in 2023.
In his career, Woullard has recorded 75 tackles, 17.5 tackles for loss, 14 quarterback sacks, five pass breakups, three forced fumbles and four blocked kicks.
With Rondell Bothroyd, Marcus Stripling and Reggie Grimes all leaving the program, bringing in Woullard adds depth to what already had the makings of a talented defensive line in Norman as the Sooners head to the SEC in 2024.
Veterans like Ethan Downs, R Mason Thomas and possibly Trace Ford returning on the edge alongside young players like P.J. Adebawore and Taylor Wein and imposing freshmen d-linemen David Stone, Jayden Jackson, Wyatt Gilmore and Nigel Smith give the Sooners what looks like a formidable defensive front in 2024.
